Lasting Powers of Attorney

Court of Protection
Should a close family member have lost capacity to make financial decisions for themselves, without having a valid power of attorney in place, it will be necessary for somebody to take over management of their financial affairs. This involves an application to the Court of Protection to be appointed their Deputy.

Trusts
Frequently a trust will form a key feature of your Will. You may however consider putting property or other assets into trust during your lifetime. We can advise as to the best course to approach for this.
Estate Administration
Once you have obtained the Grant of Probate (or Letters of Administration), it may be that the Estate is relatively complicated, or, there are numerous beneficiaries to whom the Estate should be distributed.

Probate Applications
If a person close to you has passed away, either leaving a Will appointing you Executor, or without a Will, but they have assets in their sole name, it is likely that you will need to apply to the Probate Registry for a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration.
We are able to prepare the necessary documentation for you and submit it on your behalf. These applications will vary in complexity dependent upon the size of the Deceased’s Estate and whether there will be inheritance tax payable.
